Multiple Listing Service®

The Multiple Listing Service® is a co-operative marketing program among REALTORS®, which ensures maximum exposure of properties to the greatest number of potential buyers. The MLS® System has been Canada’s most powerful real estate marketing system for over forty years. It is available only to REALTORS®.

Members access current and historical MLS® System information for the greater Edmonton region from a computer database. This information allows REALTORS® to match buyers with properties and to perform a Comparative Market Analysis (CMA), critical in valuing your home or other real estate property to sell in the current market.

When you list your property with a REALTOR® on the Multiple Listing Service®, pertinent details about it are automatically published on the Internet at REALTOR.ca for potential buyers worldwide. The largest real estate marketing site in Canada, REALTOR.ca is visited by approximately 3.25 million unique visitors per month. The latest figures show 6.5 million property feature sheets viewed monthly by visitors to the Edmonton portion of REALTOR.ca.

Real Estate Weekly

To further assist your REALTOR® in marketing your property to prospective buyers, the REALTORS® Association publishes the Real Estate Weekly, a newsprint tabloid. The Real Estate Weekly advertises properties currently for sale by district, property type, brokerage and agency. It is also an interesting source of historical, community and real estate editorial.

Owned and published by the REALTORS® Association since 1985, the Real Estate Weekly is currently distributed with the Edmonton Sun in metro Edmonton and through stands in surrounding communities every Thursday.

Builder/REALTOR® Coop Program

Another value-added service for REALTORS® and their customers is the Builder/REALTOR® Co-operation Agreement, launched in 1999. The Builder/REALTOR® Co-operation Agreement allows REALTORS® to include new homes in their customers’ home search.

Your REALTOR® can discuss participating Builders and their projects, introduce you to your selected Builder and their products, and assist you in buying a new home. Be sure to ask your REALTOR® about the benefits of considering a new home early in your home search.
