Doug Singleton Becomes REALTORS® Association President

Edmonton, January 4, 2011: The REALTORS® Association of Edmonton is pleased to announce the election of
Doug Singleton as the President of the Association for 2012. Singleton assumes his new position on January first after serving as President-Elect in 2011. He succeeds Chris Mooney who slides over to the Past President’s chair.
Having watched and participated in the growth of the Edmonton area for many years now, Doug has developed a unique knowledge of its communities and hidden treasures as well as an intuitive feel for its real estate market. Doug was licensed as a real estate associate in Alberta in October 1994 with Royal LePage Noralta Real Estate and is committed to working as a full-time REALTOR®.
Doug served on several ad hoc committees as well as the Arbitration and Professional Standards Committee for seven years and chaired it for over two years. He also serves on the Real Estate Council of Alberta Hearing Panel Roster. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Association in January 2009.
Prior to becoming a REALTOR®, Doug worked in the retail industry as a Regional Sales/Operations Manager in Edmonton, Toronto and Calgary.
Doug has been married to Marvia for 31 years and enjoys time with his two daughters and two grandchildren. He has a keen interest in sports and is active in his community. He supports the communities where he lives and works by donating a portion of each transaction's commission to the Royal LePage Shelter Foundation in support of women and children (Win House) and the REALTORS® Community Foundation in support of local charities involved in shelter, homelessness, crime prevention and special projects.
Doug will serve as President until the end of 2012.
