Darrell Cook Ascends to REALTORS® Association Presidency
Edmonton, January 3, 2013:The REALTORS® Association of Edmonton is pleased to announce the election of Darrell Cook as the President of the Association for 2013. Darrell assumed his new position on January first after serving as President-Elect in 2012. He succeeds Doug Singleton who continues to serve the Association as the Past President.
Darrell was elected to the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton’s Board of Directors in 2010, and served as President Elect in 2012. He has served on the Director Nominating Committee, the Medallion Team Awards Sub Committee, Director Honorarium Committee, and the Audit Committee for the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton. Darrell also chaired the Marketing Committee, Tech Committee, Professional Standards and Arbitration Committee and is currently the Chair of the Audit Committee.
Darrell began his Real Estate career in 1994 after a successful career as a Sales Manager with a national soft drink company. Darrell sat on the Board of Governors of the REALTORS® Community Foundation for six years. He initiated the Annual Ride for Kids which raised over $255,000 for the Foundation. He was the recipient the 2010 REALTORS® Community Foundation Volunteer of Distinction Award.
Born in Wainwright, Darrell attended St. Francis Xavier High School and Grant MacEwan College. As a long-time resident of Edmonton, Darrell knows the development history and character of Edmonton. He has two grown sons, Jamie and Brendan, and enjoys an active lifestyle which includes yoga, fitness and musical activities.
Darrell will serve as President until the end of 2013. During his term, Darrell intends to work closely with industry partners and utilize the talents and experience of the Board of Directors to better communicate with the membership and the consumer by providing the latest information about initiatives and changes within the real estate industry.
